LASER CUTTING
Bent Plastics has newly invested in laser cutting technology, offering new opportunities to our customers for precision cutting and engraving of plastics like acrylic (Perspex) and polypropylene on the Sunshine Coast. It allows intricate shapes, fine details, and tight tolerances that traditional cutting methods can’t achieve. This makes laser cutting ideal for high-quality acrylic signage, prototypes, high volume products, and custom components with smooth, polished edges.
Benefits of Laser Cutting

The laser cuts and polishes acrylic at the same time. Every intricate detail has a clean, glossy surface.

Minimise waste and reduce cost by fitting parts close together on a sheet.

Laser cutting is a digital process that makes it affordable to customise every job, including custom engraved part numbers and codes
Plastic laser cutting and engraving on the Sunshine Coast
At Bent Plastics we’re always investing in new technologies to broaden our services, and laser cutting is our latest offering from 2026.
Laser cutting is a highly accurate and efficient method of cutting and engraving plastics, most commonly acrylic (Perspex), using a focused COâ‚‚ laser beam. The laser melts and vaporises the material along a programmed path, allowing complex shapes, fine details, and tight tolerances to be achieved with exceptional consistency. Because there is no physical contact with the material, laser cutting avoids the stresses and tool marks associated with traditional cutting methods.

One of the biggest advantages of laser cutting is the quality of the finished edge. Acrylic parts often come off the laser with smooth, polished edges that require little to no additional finishing. This makes laser cutting ideal for high-visibility applications such as signage, display panels, lettering, and architectural features where appearance matters just as much as accuracy.

Laser cutting is also extremely versatile and efficient. Parts can be tightly nested on a sheet to minimise waste, helping reduce material costs and environmental impact. It is perfect for one-off custom jobs, prototypes, and short production runs, as well as repeat work where consistency across hundreds or thousands of parts is critical.

With precision, speed, and clean results, laser cutting is a reliable solution for a wide range of plastic fabrication needs. Reach out to us on (07) 5445 3623 today to talk through your project requirements.
